Metamorphosis (Documentary)
January 12-22 of 2008 I spent a wonderful ten days in Peru that I still constantly think and smile about. John Patton, the man who picked us up from the airport and acted as our fellow journeymen and guide, circulated a link today of a Documentary that was talked about while I was there but was still in the course of finalizing.
Metamorphosis (http://web.mac.com/keith_david/iWeb/METAMORPHOSIS/META%20HOME.html) is that film.
I’m still very much anticipating the full release, hoping it can touch those aspects I either overlooked or failed to do justice in my own account. I certainly hope this makes its rounds to those who are searching for such an experience.
Ayahuasca is a hallucinogenic and has some additional pleasantries involved with drinking it(, its nicknamed ‘The Purge’ for a reason), so its not something I would suggest to everyone. In my opinion a hallucinogenic is something a person should only do because they want to or feel its necessary; even with a perfect set up the experience can be dreadfully dark. I myself only encountered problems when anticipating drinking, the actual ceremonies in which I did drink never felt beyond what I could handle and I still enjoy fragments of the contentment, wonder and bliss when I recall them.
I’m very happy with having gone through with it and thankful to everyone I met down there for such a wonder time. They say the guiding spirits and medicine of the plants stay with you and accumulate with each drink, while I remain neutral on the truth of that idea I cannot deny something good seems to have been seeded by my time there.

Hey New Age Alchemist,
thanks for checking out the website and leaving a comment. Still working on the order of the clips, just getting the site up. However that is the intro to the film and so far has drawn many people in who have seen the documentary in it’s entirety. Thanks for the link.
peace,
Keith
Oh, I almost forgot, as you asked an important question. The aim of the film is to be as truthful as possible in telling the experience of ayahuasca. Good and bad, light and dark, I just wanted to give an honest portrayal and let people judge for themselves after seeing the film. That is why I spent so much time with the shamans involved, and drank many times myself, so that I could speak from a place of experience and knowledge.
thanks again,
Keith
Hey NAA,
just wanted to say hello. Thanks for the additional comment regarding clip. I just got back from the jungle where I had 5 more aya ceremonies – very intense! I’m looking to link up with other spiritual/ayahuasca sites if you have any suggestions.
peace,
Keith
p.s. And let me know where you are located as screenings will happen eventually.
how do I see a clip/actually see the flick?
The clip page from the Metamorphosis site can be found here:

The Film itself has yet to be released.
Keith:
You should be very proud of what you’ve accomplished. most people only speak of dreams and plans, but you followed through. I’ve seen only clips of your doc, and look forward to viewing the complete film.
All the best.
Hey New Age Alchemist,
I wanted to see if there was another way to contact you, maybe via your personal e-mail, or even by phone as I think we could have an interesting discussion regarding other shamans working in/near the Iquitos area.
peace, Keith
